In spring 2005, after conversion works lasted for 4.5 months, our old house, the former Gasthof Riepenlift, was turned into a small, fine mountain hotel named "Johanneshof". We lie in the heart of the Antholz valley in South Tyrol, at an altitude of 1,250m above the sea. Looking north we enjoy the majestic view of the Rieserferner group, looking south the Dolomites. Gentle meadows and woods surround the house.

in spring 2005, after conversion works lasted for 4.5 months, our old house, the former Gasthof Riepenlift, was turned into a small, fine mountain hotel named "Johanneshof". We lie in the heart of the Antholz valley in South Tyrol, at an altitude of 1,250m above the sea. Looking north we enjoy the majestic view of the Rieserferner group, looking south the Dolomites. Gentle meadows and woods surround the house. The Hellweger family has individual suggestions and offers for the most different excursions or outings of their guests. In winter the Riepen lift nearby is ideal for families with children.The Riepen lift has a length of 1,600 m and climbs for 380 m, thus it is also suitable for advanced skiers. Ski school and rental are at the hotel. So from your holiday accommodation you can go straight to the slopes. The skiing area Kronplatz can be reached with a 15 minutes' ride on the free ski bus. The bus stop is in front of the Johanneshof. For cross-country skiers the Antholz valley offers all they might wish. Antholz became renown through the biathlon races carried out every year and broadcast all over the world by the media. You can get onto the tracks directly at the Johanneshof, or reach the Cross-country Centre Antholz in 10 minutes by the free cross-county bus. We also offer our guests snow shoe walks, or now and again tobogganing from the Staller Sattel, torchlight walks, apple strudel recipe, and so on. Our surroundings .....breathtaking mountains as far as the eye can see Spring, summer and autumn: In these months our guest can undertake fantastic rambles and mountain tours starting directly from the hotel, e.g. walks to the huts and the nearby pastures of the Antholz valley, or the entry tour through the whole valley to the Antholz lake and back. In addition to our own offers the tourist association of the valley organizes several activities such as guided rambles in the natural park Rieserferner/Ahrn, herbs walks ... ...border walks, several music events with the brass bands Antholz-Mittertal and Antholz-Niedertal, children entertainment, pasture parties, and many more. Our rooms Cosy natural spruce wood suites, furnished with love and tastefully decorated with warm colours. In some of them you enjoy the morning sun, in others the afternoon sun. They are fitted with balcony, double/single bed, couch, desk, direct phone, safe, satellite TV, shower, WC, bidet, hairdryer, and soap dispenser. Our restaurant The sun's laughing, it's time to get up… and have breakfast from our buffet with fresh juices, fruits, muesli variations, home-made jams, different sorts of natural bread, biologic farmers products, egg dishes… For 35 years already the Hellweger family has been treating their guests with culinary delicacies for dinner and also for lunch in their little restaurant. Local finesses with an Italian flair are our strength. ...bon appetit!! Wellness ("Small but beautiful") A pleasant warmth, complete relaxation… welcome to our wellness section. After an exciting day in the open nature you can regenerate in our small but beautiful wellness area. For your relaxation you find a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna with starry sky and a Jacuzzi with massage jets. A relaxation room with tea and juice corner and a mountain spring with fresh water complete the pleasure. Obviously there also are showers and a WC.
