The Wiesemannhof lies exactly between Antholz Niedertal and Antholz
Mittertal at an altitude of 1250 metres.
The ensemble is made up by four buildings: the old farmhouse, the farmstead, the old mill and the new residential building. The four flats are located on the first and second floor. The name Wiesemannhof has its origins in old times, when the farm was owned by another family. According to the law of succession for farms, the farm always goes to the oldest son to avoid breaking up the farm and to safeguard its continuity. For this reason today the Wiesemannhof is one of the oldest of the whole valley (known since the 16th century) The old water mill is a particular testimonial of the past. Many years ago the small river that now runs about one hundred metres behind the farm used to flow through its mill wheel which unfortunately no longer exists. Inside the mill however many historical pieces are conserved, such as the heavy mill stone with its huge rack-wheel and the meal case, old barrels, and buckets. Whoever has a look inside our mill no longer needs to visit an open air museum, as here you can admire a piece of past life even though the stone no longer moves. About 150 metres off the main buildings, on the narrow road towards Mittertal, there is the private farm chapel. This tiny church is the oldest chapel of Tyrol, and has been restored recently.
