Anterselva in winter

Anterselva can be called the Mecca of biathlon and cross-country sports. The Valley of Anterselva has over 60km of prepared cross-country trails, which may be navigated in the traditional or skating style. It can therefore be recommended for everyone, from beginners to advanced. The cross-country trails wind through romantic forests, snow-covered meadows and over the frozen lake.

In the Biathlon Centre of Anterselva di Sopra, Biathlon World Cup competitions take place annually and in 2007 the world championship was also held there. Thus you can explore the Valley of Anterselva in the tracks of the world champions, by cross-country skiing, and enjoy the marvellous mountain scenery at the same time.

A few kilometres from Anterselva is the Kronplatz ski area, which has over 31 lifts and fulfils all wishes: sportling runs, broad carving pistes, a sunny 360° view and numerous après-ski taverns, offering fantastic conditions for skiers and snowboarders.

In Anterselva di Mezzo, the "Riepenlift" is especially suitable for children and beginners, and thus many a skier has made their first attempt here. It is also recommended that you take advantage of the offers of the numerous ski hire and ski school companies for cross-country as well as alpine skiing.

As an alternative to the skiing, there are also two toboggan runs at the Lake Anterselva, which guarantee unadulterated tobogganing fun. Before tacking the toboggan runs, you can fortify yourself in the Hexenschenke on the Stallersattel or the Steinzgeralm. There is also the possibility of hiring the toboggans on the spot. The Valley of Anterselva also offers interesting possibilities for snowshoe hikers and ski tourers in the snow-covered landscape.

Leave the car behind on your winter holiday and use the free ski bus, which operates several times a day between the Biathlon Centre and the Kronplatz ski area.

Or go for extensive walks on the cleared winter trails and enjoy the sunlight and peaceful mountain environment of our valley.
